In the morning my mom drops me off at Summit Kids in the main room called the Activity Centre. The Summit Kids room is full of amazing stuff. Some of the toys and games I have at home and some things that I have never seen before. In the morning I have tons of choices of things to do; some quiet (because sometimes I’m tired) and some that are very exciting, like play and games in the gym. Once the bell rings the Summit Kids teacher meets us and takes us to our very own special room where we get started on our daily activities like reading books, working on art projects, learning how to write and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. After all that learning I am hungry and we get snack time. Next comes my favorite part of the day, we head outside for some play and physical activity. If it’s too cold outside or its raining we get to play games inside like hockey in the hallway with mini hockey sticks. After that I am starving and we get to have lunch back in the Summit Kids room. When I’m done my lunch I head down to school and my kindergarten class. After school I race back to Summit Kids because I can’t wait to see what the leaders have planned for us. After a quick snack we set off for another couple of hours of wicked fun. When mom picks me up I don’t want to leave but I know I’ll be back tomorrow to do it all over again.
My parents work early in the morning and are done work at 5 o’clock so I get to go to Summit Kids early and stay after school until Mom or Dad can pick me up. They drop me off at the Summit Kids room at 7 o’clock in the morning and I am pretty tired but my friends are all there early too so I don’t mind. If I have some homework left to do I can always ask the Summit Kids Leaders to help me.
At 8 we all get to choose an activity. I can finish up the past projects like weaving or artwork, play board games, go to the gym or participate in building club. After the first bell rings we start cleaning up our projects and put all the stuff we have used that morning away. The leaders are always talking about respect for our things.
The school bell goes and we are off to our classrooms for the day.
When I’m done at school I can’t wait to get to Summit Kids, I never know what we are going to do; there are just so many different activities. I grab my last snack of the day. I check in with the big board and see who my leader is for the day and where we are meeting for our activity. Every day we do something different with one of the leaders. We have lots of choices and clubs that we can join.
At the end of my day, around 5:00 pm, I can relax and do quiet games, art or perhaps my homework with my friends that are left.
Mom or Dad pick me up close to 6:00 and I am pretty tired and ready for dinner. I tell them to wake me up early tomorrow so that I can get to Summit Kids early!
